CELTICS

Post by Watchutalkinbout' » Oct Mon 18, 2004 3:06 pm

Think they will be any good this year? They are in the east. Should be an intresing season, there is plenty of character on this team.

What can be said new coach a real point guard for once, someone writing about Ricky Davis said he was really getting into this passing thing. Can't help but feel a little optimistic.

It's going to be a very painful rebuilding year that should provide for a competitive team in about a 2-3 year window.

Haven't caught that many pre-season games on tv but they do look pretty good.If everyone stays healthy,I think they could do alright.
I'm optimistic.

He's the first coach in a while that has a long term rebuilding plan. That's a start.

Sixers eke it out, but the starting five looks good, the bench is questionable.

You can't blow leads like they had and expect to win!
Again,Pierce is trying to go one on three instead of passing it off to the open man!!

Yeah, in the end Paul was trying to do too much, he should have let Payton set up the offense, his addition is going to make paul's life easier, especially when that thumb heals.

There's no excuse for Pierce. He's a seasoned veteran now. he should know how to play this game. He thinks he can play 5-on-1 like Kobe. He can't.

They looked really good tonight until the last 5 mins or so! They controlled the majority of that game. Good game for Davis, Blount(although he choked at the end), and the rookie Jefferson. Payton really knows how to set up the ally hoop. I still can't believe they lost. At least there were some positives. How bout that Davis dunk right over Jermaine O' Neal? :D

They talk about the curse the Red Sox had put on them......I'm wondering who put a curse on the Celtics. Oh, for the days when we had Bird, Parish, Ainge, Archibald and we were the #1 team in the league........

Howard Stern and the other celebrities left the arena very early! Pierce played well and got lots of rest.

Yeah thats right, and Blount has been mediocre at best.

I saw Lafrentz at a Red Sox game, he was double fisting brewskis. It's all good.

Remember this team? But seriously, how about this antwain trade? Really really wierd, but it definetly makes them better. But here is the new news! The Hawks are going to come to a finacial agreement with Payton and let him go! He will then resign with the celtics for the rest of the year! Pierce, Antwaine, and Payton! I think I'll hope on the bandwagon.

If Ainge wasn't a Mormen I would say he is on drugs!Seriously! He trades away Walker who calls Ainge a SNAKE, then trades 3 guys for him PLUS a 1st round draft choice??? Then he trades Welsch for a 2nd round draft pick to the Cavs? :(

Hey they didn't give up much at all for Walker, be serious! Payton was gone after the season, Gugliota was rotting on the bench, and the other guy never made it to the roster in the first place. And they picked up a 1st round pick for Welch, whos playing time decreased with the outstanding play of Tony Allen. Now they have some open roster spots, they need to sign a PG to backup Delonte West and Banks

You left out that Walker's deal was the three players AND a first round draft pick.If I heard Ainge he wants to RE-build this club with young players so I wouldn't have given up a 1st round draft choice.
Secondly,Ainge said publicly that he didn't like Walker's game!Looking at his stats since leaving,Ainge was right. So,what has changed?
Jiri Welsch was traded for a 1st round draft pick in 2007!
