We had an (American) Chestnut tree in our backyard (not a horse chestnut tree). A good portion of the crown (top half) of the tree blew down in one of the storms we had in the last few weeks. We took down the remainder of the tree yesterday, have about 22 feet of tree trunk. I'm just wondering if this is worth anything as lumber versus just turning it into firewood? I've called Copeland Lumber (saw mill), they didn't really want anything to do with it unfortunately.
