Town hall celebrated another good Employee Leaving Marshfield on Tuesday. Mat Tanis, Board of Health Agent, left Marshfield to return to his previous job for the Town of Hanson, Health Agent. How many good employees leaving Marshfield does it take, to have the Selectmen correct the problems in Marshfield Town Hall?

REMEMBER there is NOT a problem with The Town Charter or the 'form' of government.

The PROBLEM is that the same group, the same clique, we call it 'The Regime' - which is centered around the Democratic Town Committee, SELECTS AND ELECTS those who run town government.

The Regime is using the apparent dysfunction, un-accountability and brash disregard for the taxpayers as the rationale for pushing changes in town government.

They call it 'becoming more efficient' and, 'centralizing power.'

Check out the thread: "Charter review committee proposals."

Note reference to the Mariner article cited - which contains:

"Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Don Gibson, said with feedback from the community, they’re working article by article.

He said they’re hoping to make Marshfield’s government more centralized.

“So it’s more responsive, it’s more efficient, and more financially accountable,” said Gibson."

Feedback??? From 'the community''??? LOL!

So the same people that brought the dysfunction are going to bring 'the solution.'

REMEMBER, 'Efficiency' and 'centralization' are euphemisms for what they are REALLY going to do:

DOUBLE-DOWN ON THOSE THAT WILL NOT SUBMIT - WHILE AMASSING MORE POWER OVER BUDGETS AND HIRING AND, PAVING THE TOWN FOR URBANIZATION.

Most recent B.O.P.W. meeting Tom Reynolds announcing he is set to retire ( forced out? ) in August.
Steve Robbins gets his wish.
I wonder who Steve Robbins will pick to be his loyal subject as superintendent?

Sean Patterson maybe?? the board gave him a bonus for filling in for Tom while he was out on medical leave, Steve Robbins had it all figured out - $3,000 and change! everyone in that meeting looked tense. what a shame.

If you go and look at Dec. 4 B.O.P.W. meeting at the near end of meeting the chairperson addresses Mr. Patterson as superintendent, not acting superintendent. That raised my eyebrow and I thought maybe it was a mistake. After seeing last meeting I don't think it was.
In regards to bonus to "Superintendent" Patterson, it concerns me that no one questioned how Steve Robbins came up with that number.

It is obvious, Robbins conspired prior to the open meeting. A copy of the video should be sent to the ethics commission.

Doubtfully an ethics issue. Not even a News item in the local newspaper. More of a power issue to show who's boss!

I don't see anything that would warrant am ethics violation. If you think there is could you elaborate on what you think it is lifetime?
