Wow and we have not even discussed the cost of a new seawall? We are looking at huge increases in property taxes. We will be driving a lot of people out of this town.

What happened to Joe P was truly frightening. I never realized that the School Committee had the power to bar a parent from the school premises w/o any kind of hearing or input from the parent. Then to arrest him was an abuse of power and was a message sent to the rest of us who ask too many questio...

Re: NERVOUS ABOUT HS DEBT

Firstly, I must say that I appreciate Marshead's respectful response to my concerns unlike others on this forum. I was on the fence re: HS but my concerns lie with the State meeting its promises to pay for large portion of the cost. If they meet their obligations then, indeed, it might make sense to...

Re: NERVOUS ABOUT HS DEBT

Mark my words, five years from now, everyone in this town will regret all this spending. We should be looking at the most cost effective way to redo the HS not a $130 million bldg. Already the proposed cost of this HS has gone up and everyone knows that construction costs usually exceeds estimates. ...

NERVOUS ABOUT HS DEBT

Is it a good time to incur debt right now given the downgrade of US treasuries. Interest rates will go up and the cost for the new HS is going to be even more than expected. Given the fact that we are facing the seawall repair along with a new HS, I think we should look at renovation vs new. Can we ...

I am not sure where I stand on this issue. However, we should be apprised of the total cost for each taxpayer. If we go with a new HS what is the estimated cost for each home owner. That should include everything eg. demolition, and any possible extras. Then we should have the total costs for a reno...
