Re: search committee for town administrator

This should probably be a new topic, but just looked online at the Town's website for Job Opportunites and see that Building Commissioner and Facilities Manager posted yesterday, 9/19 and Town Accountant on 9/11. Are you kidding me??? What is going on here. Isn't Barbara Costa the Town Accountant an...

Re: search committee for town administrator

Well, we should'a known when Rocco announced that the town's HR person was going to conduct the search instead of outsourcing it to a consultant that it was a done deal, and then the Selectmen appointed al of their favorite townspeople to serve on the committee, and totally ramped it up to a quick d...

Re: search committee for town administrator

No, they weren't the only two "vying" or applying for the job. The town's HR person told the Selectmen she had received 26 applications. That's what makes this all the more repugnant b/c at the end of the day, she and the rest of the search committee picked only two finalists, and it sure sounds lik...

Ugh. Say it isn't so. What are his qualifications? Does he meet all of the criteria? Did they re-write the job description to meet what he has to offer? This is not good, does not look good. I always champion for the Town, but this is not what I expected. Unless, of course, he is the best qualified ...

Maybe not, he is still on contract in Hanover until April 2018. But Ms. Vinchessi is available, and they are on an accelerated track to hire someone this month to start in October. Also note that Neil Duggan formerly the Scituate building commissioner will be appointed by the Selectmen on Monday nig...

why don't you ask them why?
I would guess it probably had something to do with the member's schedules. They have given up a huge amount of their personal time to serve on this board for the past 2-1/2 years, they are all volunteers. They deserve our thanks, not criticism.

I kind of think you don't know what an executive search committee does, either in the private or public sector.

to Eric's point on the three finalists being interviewed in public - yes, sometimes the candidate does opt out at the end b/c they don't wish to jeopardize their current position. I'm sure you would not want everybody at Stop and Shop to know that you are interviewing at Roche Bros., for instance. I...

no. only place to put one would be on the Davis's property and I think that has been proposed, but shot down b/c of the septic issue there.
