Re: Board Of Public Works reorganization

My reply to Joseph's posting is - because Jim Fitzgerald also believed the story being promulgated by the DPW that we were pretty much a bunch of deadbeats when it came to paying water bills, which was essentially untrue!

Re: Board Of Public Works reorganization

That's what I'm sayin'. It was pretty clear from the beginning that it was a hurry up effort to get some money back into the coffers b/c of some regulation with the DOR, and now the executive branch of town government can't 'borrow' money from the enterprise accounts to do so. I didn't like the way ...

Re: Board Of Public Works reorganization

Niles, understood what you are saying about paying one's bills, but that is not the issue here. It was the manner in which the new policy was presented and executed by the DPW Board and the execution of the policy, within a week's time, by the Treasurer that bothers me. To date, they are at 95% coll...

Nice of you to acknowledge that the neighbors and the new management team and the BOS have reached an amicable agreement. It was good to see a positive response from you. Y'all looked happy leaving the meeting on Monday night. See, I told ya! Let's all enjoy the summer and the new dining options in ...

Re: John F Davis former proprietor of the yet unopened Ocean View Grille at the Fairview

I apologize to you for calling you 'the wizard'. I was curious about your screen name, arastus, and looked it up on google, and found that arastus was a character in a Rick Riordan book series, and he was the wizard, ergo, I thought you might think likewise of yourself, which is fine. Re: John F Davis former proprietor of the yet unopened Ocean View Grille at the Fairview

Why are you so angry? I'm not on the Board of Selectmen who opposed you and your neighbor's requests. I don't know what the PLedger's legal ad wrote but if you say it had a different named Manager than the Marshfield Mariner's legal ad wrote, I think that is a problem. I am not a resident of Brant R...

Re: John F Davis former proprietor of the yet unopened Ocean View Grille at the Fairview

It is a very curious situation if the Ledger's legal notice has a different named manager than the legal notice in the Mariner. I get all of your concerns if in fact you are a neighbor and an abutter, and I also agree with you that the BOS did not listen to you at the big meeting held earlier with M...

So, Aratus, aka the wizard, why is this not a good thing and a good business plan by the Clancy bros, as long as the new manager is qualified and receives the approval of the ABCC? it opens the restaurant which a lot of people have been looking forward to, it brings jobs to people who need and want ...

Re: Board Of Public Works reorganization

Niles, most of the people who were in arrears were either over 65 years old or living on social security or a pension, a veteran who served our country in the military, or a household with small children. Once the list was culled, there were not that many who had not paid, certainly not the 500 that...

So if that's the case, and I don't know where you got this information, then that's why Steve Robbins went over to DPW Board, b/c he will automatically become the 4th or 5th Selectman when that change occurs.

Just call him by name - Mr. Davis, or pronoun - him, or he. Or guy. Or man. Or dude. Whatever.

Eric, you need to watch the vimeo of the Cons Comm meeting where the issue was discussed, deliberated, and voted on, and which Joe Pecevich was at. Joe clearly stated that Mr. Junior was getting a 'sweetheart deal" (which he's not) and Joe is sour grapes and you are following suit. End of story.

I don't think we are a "banana republic" at all, but I do think this week's TM was the Worst TM Ever. Jim Robinson did a terrible job. It did take too long. It took Jim Robinson a full half hour at the beginning to go over the rules, for one thing. He seemed so ill prepared last night, for some reason. And, there were some pretty stupid questions, particularly about the zoning issue on the harbormaster's building. Some people just ...

Advisory Board should not have put the $800,000 back in which was taken out by the two Selectmen (where was Mr. Bradley when they were discussing the warrant?). But, they did, and the school teachers will all keep their jobs and get their raises. No layoffs. Why are they so privileged? People get la...
